My Biggest Issue with Kyle Rittenhouse? Kyle Rittenhouse’s Mom

And yes, I realize what Kyle Rittenhouse did was absolute total bullshit. So, let’s just place that aside because, at the end of the day, he was charged as an adult. The prosecutor tried to introduce evidence that was ruled inadmissible (which, in my opinion that counts for nothing, was stupid). And I have some terrible feelings about the judge, too. Okay? Okay.

But Really, Let’s Focus on Kyle Rittenhouse’s Mom

I know, I know…some of yall – your head is going to explode because he’s an adult and why is my focus on Kyle Rittenhouse’s mom? Because he’s an adult in age, but not in his brain. And what kind of decent (not great, decent…even okay-ish) parent in their right goddamn motherfucking mind takes their 17-year-old child with or even without a fucking weapon to that sort of area?! Give me a fucking break.

What sort of parent puts their child in that kind of danger? The correct answer is not a patriot. You are a parent before you are anything else. A parent loves and protects their child.

Children may grow into the body of an adult long before they developmentally mature. I have a 12-year-old child who is almost 6′ tall. He weighs almost 180 pounds. Guess what? He’s still a child. Of course, he also has nonverbal autism and multiple delays so not quite the same thing. I’d never in a million years take him to any place that could turn into such a catastrophe. I’d never have taken my more neurotypical children to something like that as minors, either.

Why not? Because on average, brains aren’t fully developed until around the age of 25 years. Even then, brains don’t actually stop growing or maturing (it’s why men don’t generally settle down until they are closer to 30 years old…). Not going to give any of you a source because so many of you just looovveee to dO yOuR oWn ReSEaRcH. So go do it!

This is NOT to say that he shouldn’t be tried as an adult for murder. He should be and he is being tried as such. It is to say that Kyle Rittenhouse’s mom, in my opinion as a mom, did her son a grave injustice by what she did. She is the main reason he is in this situation. She drove him.

Would he have found another ride? Maybe. But we’re not playing whataboutisms. We’re dealing with the facts we have on hand. If it weren’t for the fact she drove him, he couldn’t have killed two people. And who the hell allows a child to carry around an AR on an open street? His mother never should have allowed that. Never.

In my opinion as a mother, she got her kid into this mess by escorting him. I don’t give a flying fuck if they were “invited” by a business owner or if she somehow felt compelled to go protect a business. Her minor child should have remained at home. She should have done her job as a mother by keeping her minor child at home. Where he belonged.

And now look what’s happened. I sure hope she’s happy with herself.
